What owners ask us

Will callers know it's an AI?
Yes — it tells them. The receptionist introduces itself as your business's virtual assistant at the start of every call, before anything else. Your customers know exactly what they're speaking with, and they still get answered on the second ring at 9pm instead of hitting voicemail.

We built it that way deliberately. Getting caught pretending to be a person costs far more trust than being straightforward ever will — and what people actually care about is that somebody picked up and handled it. Transparency isn't a compromise here, it's part of the product.
What if it can't answer something?
It says so honestly, takes a message, and either transfers to you or promises a callback — then texts you immediately. It never invents an answer or quotes a price we haven't given it.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. You keep your number. We set up call forwarding so the AI only picks up under the conditions you choose — after hours, when you don't answer in 4 rings, weekends, or all calls.
Can it actually book into my calendar?
Yes — Google Calendar, Outlook, Jobber, Housecall Pro and most scheduling tools. It reads your real availability so it never double-books you.

Which should I start with — text-back or voice?
Text-back, usually. It's the cheapest way in, has no per-minute cost, and catches every call you miss regardless of the reason. Voice makes sense when a lot of your callers won't text — older customers, or true emergencies where someone needs to talk to a person right now. Plenty of businesses run both.
Is the automatic texting legal?
The system is built for inbound follow-up — it replies to someone who just called your business. It is not designed for purchased lists or unsolicited mass texting, and we won't set it up that way.

Every message identifies your business, honours opt-out requests automatically, and goes out over registered A2P 10DLC messaging infrastructure, which is the carrier registration required for business texting in the US. We file that registration for you during setup.

You remain responsible for approving your own consent language and for getting whatever legal guidance your situation calls for. We're not attorneys and this isn't legal advice — if you're unsure how the rules apply to your business, talk to one.
Does this include advertising?
No, and nothing on this page needs it. Advertising is optional and completely separate from the receptionist service — these tools work on the calls you're already getting.

If you do want to add Google or Meta Ads later, we'll recommend a budget based on your market, your competition and what you're trying to achieve. You pay the advertising platform directly from your own account, in your own name.
What if I don't like it?
Month to month, cancel anytime with 30 days notice. Turn off forwarding and your phone works exactly as it did before.
